At Akademiq, we strive to provide excellent service and ensure customer satisfaction. This Refund Policy explains the circumstances under which refunds may be issued for our subscription services.
Free Plan
Our Free plan has no charges and therefore no refunds are applicable. You may cancel or discontinue use of the Free plan at any time without any obligations.
Paid Subscriptions
7-Day Money-Back Guarantee
For first-time subscribers to any paid plan (Starter, Growth, or Pro), we offer a 7-day money-back guarantee:
- This applies only to your first payment for a new subscription
- Request for refund must be made within 7 days of the initial payment
- A full refund will be issued if you are not satisfied with the service
- The refund guarantee does not apply to renewals or upgrades
- You must provide a reason for requesting a refund (to help us improve)
After 7 Days
After the 7-day money-back guarantee period expires, subscription fees are non-refundable. However, we will consider refund requests on a case-by-case basis in exceptional circumstances such as:
- Extended service outages caused by us
- Billing errors or duplicate charges
- Other extraordinary circumstances at our sole discretion
Annual Subscriptions
For annual subscriptions:
- The 7-day money-back guarantee applies to first-time annual subscribers
- After 7 days, annual subscriptions are non-refundable
- You may cancel the subscription, which will remain active until the end of the annual period
- No pro-rated refunds are provided for unused portions of annual subscriptions
Cancellation Policy
How to Cancel
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting our support team at support@akademiq.in. No penalties or cancellation fees apply.
Effect of Cancellation
- Your subscription will remain active until the end of your current billing period
- You will continue to have access to paid features until the subscription expires
- No charges will be made for subsequent billing periods
- You may request a data export before your subscription expires
- After expiration, your account may be downgraded to the Free plan (subject to Free plan limitations)
Upgrades and Downgrades
Upgrades
When you upgrade to a higher plan, you will be charged the pro-rated difference for the remainder of your current billing period. The new plan takes effect immediately.
Downgrades
When you downgrade to a lower plan, the change takes effect at the start of your next billing period. You will retain access to your current plan's features until then. No refunds or credits are issued for the difference in plan prices.
Refund Process
How to Request a Refund
To request a refund within the 7-day money-back guarantee period:
- Email support@akademiq.in with "Refund Request" in the subject line
- Include your account email address and subscription details
- Briefly explain your reason for requesting a refund
- Our team will respond within 2 business days
Refund Timeline
Once a refund is approved, it will be processed within 5-7 business days. The refund will be credited to the original payment method used for the purchase. Depending on your bank or payment provider, it may take additional time for the refund to appear in your account.
Non-Refundable Items
The following are non-refundable under all circumstances:
- Setup fees or custom development charges (if applicable)
- Third-party service charges (SMS credits, payment gateway fees, etc.)
- Data migration services already performed
- Training or consulting services already delivered
Billing Errors
If you believe you have been charged in error, please contact us immediately at support@akademiq.in. We will investigate and issue a refund if the charge was indeed an error. Common billing errors include:
- Duplicate charges
- Charges after cancellation
- Incorrect subscription plan charges
- Technical payment processing errors
Service Credits
In cases where a full refund is not appropriate but you have experienced service issues, we may offer service credits. These credits can be applied to future subscription payments. Service credits have no cash value and are non-transferable.
Fair Usage
We reserve the right to refuse refund requests that we determine, in our sole discretion, to be fraudulent, abusive, or made in bad faith. Multiple refund requests or patterns of abuse may result in account suspension or termination.
Changes to Refund Policy
We may modify this Refund Policy from time to time. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting on our website. The policy in effect at the time of your purchase governs your refund rights for that purchase.
